Meet Meredith Frey of Simplifrey in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Frey.

Meredith, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
If I’m being honest, my story probably started when I was pregnant with my first and was constantly being told two things. One that I better get ready to kiss certain aspects of my life goodbye (clean house, peaceful meals, the ability to shower). And two, all the things I “needed” in order to keep a tiny human alive.

It was overwhelming. I already knew kids were going to change my life — that was inevitable and what I signed up for. But I refused to throw in the towel just because this season of life was going to require additional butt wiping.

Two kids later and I didn’t have to eat my words. Simplifrey was created as a platform to share the perspective I’ve always held — Yes, parenting is messy, but you don’t always have to embrace the mess of motherhood. You can always simplify something before you have to embrace anything. Simplifrey is about living and sharing our simplified chaos.

Has it been a smooth road?
Raising tiny humans and balancing anything else is always a work in progress. Work and life collide in a much different way than they used to (in the best way). My biggest “challenge” is determining priorities and then being deliberate with my time. It’s requires lots of trial and error and a whole lot of grace.

Please tell us about Simplifrey.
Simplifrey is a motherhood lifestyle brand that focuses on simplifying the chaotic seasons of life. I share tips, tricks, hacks and products that in some way have helped corral our chaos. I try and approach my content from several perspectives. I think there is more to motherhood than just figuring out the best way to organize your kid’s playroom. You also need to take time for yourself and figure out the best sheet mask too. I like to focus on a little bit of everything — because that’s our reality. I’m a firm believer you can’t take anything too seriously. I’m constantly battling my own self-deprecation while simultaneously acknowledging the pressure we all put on ourselves as mothers. I’m most proud of the mamas that reach out and thank me for a tip a product or a hack. I love sharing and helping my sweet mamas.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The motherhood and lifestyle industry is evolving into a space of empowerment for mamas and women in general. It’s a space I want to evolve in as well. Having these platforms to connect, support and communicate during a really intense, rewarding but difficult season of life is incredibly important not only for me, but any person going through the ebbs and flows of parenting. The industry is quickly becoming a healthier and more transparent place for mothers and women to feel supported and heard about the relatable moments of madness and joy we all experience during this phase of life.
