Mirna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am 29 years old, I’m a mother of four beautiful boys, my motivation of this journey of becoming professional hairstylist l. I officially started on September 23, 2019 when I first got my very first mannequin doll, I was very excited although I wasn’t sure how’d I even start, before I received my doll I would watch a lot of video tutorials on hair, I loved how it created different form of art.
The techniques that were used and how the hairstyles were achieved immediately grabbed my attention and I wanted to try it myself. I know of many hairstylists that have been in the industry for many years, each has their own story, mines is similar with theirs in many forms but I’d like to add that for me being involved with the person is creating a relationship with them in every step of the way, to me it’s not just about achieving a specific look they are wanting on their hair but, to actually initiating a conversation to be able to have interaction with them and build confidence with them. I got where I am thanks to all the support I’ve gotten from my friends and family and from never giving up, but the one that has always been with me is god he’s giving me the hope, strength and patience that is needed to continue this journey because it’s not as easy as it may look. Everything requires a lot of time and dedication, but thankfully I am able to do what I love and I’m extremely grateful I am where I am now.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of the obstacles/challenges that I’ve faced so far is time. As much as I’d like to dedicate more of my time to do as many hairstyles as I’d like I’m unable due to the fact that I have an eight months old and three other boys, as a mother of four boys it’s hard to have enough time to learn more and get out more to practice doing hairstyles.

My business provides any hairstyle you’d like, I’m proud of myself for being where I am today, although I officially started few months ago I have come a long way, what sets me apart from others is being loving, I love that I love to care for every detail, dedication and friendliness I put in. And that’s how it can be distinguished from others.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like most about my city is how the community gather up to help others for example, if you own a small business everyone comes together to help build up the company. What I don’t really like about my city is the amount of time it can take in the highways due to traffic.
