Today we’d like to introduce you to Nittasha A. Naidu.
Nittasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I suppose you can say that I am a LadyPreneur in the true essence of the word. Business runs in my blood. Being involved in the family business early on (I have been working since the age of 10) sparked the passion for entrepreneurship in me which led me to pursue my education in Business Administration from the University of Houston. After graduation, I was hired into a Business Development role for a Clinical Research Organization which led me into my journey in Healthcare. I decided to further my education in the Healthcare realm and obtained a Masters of Science Degree in Healthcare Human Resources from Texas State University. I have 10+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry specifically in Recruitment and as Generalist for Fortune 500 Hospitals and 100 best companies to work for in Houston, TX-Home of one of the largest Medical Centers in the Nation.
I had a very fruitful career and was on an upward trajectory in my career, consistently getting promoted and was thankful to be adding value to the organization through my work. My husband and I bought a beautiful home in an affluent neighborhood in Sugar Land, have two children, and were building a wonderful life together with our paychecks. We were living the American Dream!
I loved my job and all the people that I worked with but I always wanted to be a business owner and somewhere along the line, I started feeling heavy going into work and felt that my job had lost purpose for me. I did not want to live the “9-5” life any more where I was constantly rushing to drop the kids off to school, rushing to work, then rushing home after work, prepping for dinner (or surviving on leftovers), bath time and homework, dinner, maybe spending 30 minutes with my kids and husband then leading into bedtime. And all to do it over the next day the same way. I felt as though I was never really present anywhere which led me to make the decision to live more consciously and with a purpose. With that, the spark inside me to own my own business turned into a raging fire and that is where my journey truly began.
By profession and passion, I am an HR Professional, Business Owner and Certified Career Business & Coach who operates a Business by the name of Elsun Healthcare Staffing & HR Consulting.
I believe that I am a driven, empowered woman and am equally passionate about running my Social Media Woman’s Empowerment group by the name of The Shero Circle.
As the CEO of Elsun Healthcare Staffing & Consulting, I am focused on developing lasting relationships and delivering with the highest standards of quality and care with cost-effective staffing solutions and HR Consulting Services that exceed industry standards for my clients.
As the Founder of The Shero Circle, I believe that all Sheroes (All women are Sheroes) have a unique superpower! My goal is for all the Sheroes to challenge the status quo by shifting our mindset in order to live a purposeful life through personal growth & self-development, reviving old goals or creating new ones, create a space for and cultivate an environment of knowledge sharing that will add value to the lives of all Sheroes and our families while having fun along the way!
I believe in living a life that is meaningful, purposeful and intentional and my motto in life is to “level up”.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every great thing in life is worth the effort. I knew that I wanted to achieve something great and for that, I had to give up the good or the good enough.
I have never been one to take the path of least resistance and I truly believe in looking at a good challenge straight in the eyes and giving it a wink. I have always been that girl who doesn’t believe in throwing a pity party for myself and instead of saying “Why me”, I tell life to “TRY ME” ( I learned this through my living role model, my dad).
Initially, the thought of starting my own business(es) was a bit daunting. When I decided to quit my job, I was terrified at the thought of letting my family down, I am responsible for my children as much as my husband is and we built a life together. I had many sleepless nights and long drawn out conversations with my close circle which is inclusive of my parents, my husband and even myself. Everyone in my circle gave me the strength to make the decisions that I wanted/needed to make and am thankful that my circle has faith in my abilities as much as I do. I was not advised to take the “safe way” and stay at a job collecting a good paycheck. Rather, I was encouraged to take the leap and start my own business because that is where my passion lied, and it’s what I had wanted to from as far back as I could remember.
By the time I made the decision to quit my Job, Elsun was up and running. I was able to get support from my contacts and was gaining momentum, and was getting myself out into the field. I was successful at making clients and closing on contracts.
A few months after I quit my job, I started a social media group The Shero Circle. In a short span of 3 months of starting The Shero Circle, I have almost 2500 followers on Facebook and Instagram combined.
I would say what has been the most challenging is time management! I am still trying to find a balance and am equally passionate about both of my ventures. I am not willing to let one take a backseat to the other. I am also a Mom of a three year old and a 11 month old and they require my time just as much. Not to mention that I need to give some of my time to my Husband as well. I have wonderful parents who help me with taking care of my children on a daily basis so that I can stay focused on my business and help us sneak in those much-needed date nights to keep us connected to each other. I must say that my husband has been a HUGE part of my success through his support. Despite the fact that he has a full-time job, he has picked up a lot of the responsibilities at Elsun and stepped up with the kids and home life even more than before so that I can stay focused on my clients and projects with Elsun and let my creative juices flow for The shero Circle.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston has so much to offer. But what I LOVE most about this city is its diversity. I don’t believe in living a homogeneous life and love the fact that I can expose my children to different types of people and groups. I believe that diversity and inclusion is how we are going to raise tolerant, accepting individuals and that it’s important for our children to know that people look different, smell different, eat different foods, etc. Houston has a rich food and shopping scene, lots of wonderful festivals, well thought out master-planned communities and museums. What I like least about the city is probably the infrastructure and the risk of floods during hurricane seasons. I also wish that we had more natural attractions such as hills or lakes, but all that to say, this is HOME!
