Meet Patty Artiga of PattyTellsAll

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patty Artiga.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Patty. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I am Patty, the blogger and content creator behind and in front of PattyTellsAll. I started my blog at the end of January 2018 and I have been grabbing and appreciating every opportunity that has come my way. ! I am a mother, I work full time, I go to school part-time (9 credit hours) I am a new blogger and a freelance photographer.

I became a young mom at the age of 19 and I had to put a lot of my goals and wants to the side to embrace my new role as a mother. I knew there was always more than I wanted to do with my photography. I would take Elijah with me to many places and use him as my model in front of murals, at parks, at any place that caught my eye. In 2017, I knew I wanted to do more with my photos and creativity but what? Blogging was something I wanted to do but I constantly compared myself to other bloggers and photographers and I thought I wasn’t good enough to do it.

Finally, at the end of 2017, I set myself a goal of launching my own website/blog by the end of January 2018. I wanted to share my photos, experiences, and events with everyone. I remember it was the 3rd week into January and I was ready to pay someone to finish my website but I didn’t quit. I had sleepless nights but I put my website and launched my blog at the end of January. I had already hit my goal and it has been one of the best things I could have ever done. I have met SO many amazing people through my blog.

I have built real friendships and real relationships with companies and my blog hasn’t even turned 1 yet. I cannot imagine what else is in store for PattyTellsAll.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The startup of my blog has not been a smooth road, to say the least. I realized quickly I had put a lot on my plate that I couldn’t handle.

I wanted to be at every event, every photo shoot, every collab. Truth is, I am a mom and a student, I cannot be a part of EVERYTHING. I have the biggest case of “FOMO” (Fear of missing out), but I quickly learned that although this is a passion of mines, I need to time manage a lot better.

My son is and will always be my number 1 priority. I am slowly started to get in the swing of things, and I go to events that are more kid/mom-friendly, and I plan things around the school and his soccer schedule. Time management is key!

Please tell us about PattyTellsAll.
PattyTellsAll is a blog that launched at the end of January 2018. PattyTellsAll focuses on hidden gems around the Houston area. Whether is it an event, new restaurant, Instagramable spot, or local brand, I like to feature all things Houston! I bring the fun and boldness of locations, and my goal is for you to know you can depend on PattyTellsAll to share the hottest spots in Houston.

I am proud of how much I have grown in less than a year. I go to events, and people actually recognize me. “Oh, you’re PattyTellsAlll!” that is such a great feeling. Something that sets me apart from others is I don’t always follow the trend. I research what I want to share. I don’t want to just share what everyone else is, I want real hidden gems to be shared and for older businesses to get love as well.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is going to my grandmas as a child. Two of my closes cousins lived with my grandmother, so my summers always consisted of going over there and making up games. We would go to the backyard and pick raspberries, and I would always get told not to eat them, and I did anyway.

Growing up with my cousins and spending so much time with my grandma has and is such a blessing. Family is very important, and I can always look back at the childhood fun I had at my mama Cata’s!
