Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Pierre.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been an encourager. Whether my friends were debating a new position at work, thinking of starting a new business, or in a rough spot – I would always encourage them to go for it. When I became a mother and I began to connect with other moms I had similar conversations, but the moms were talking about feeling stuck once they had families.
I began to hear their stories of wanting more but not having the time or energy with all of the responsibilities of life and desiring to take care of children, husbands, home and career. I decided to start the Mommifaceted community to encourage moms that they can be more than just a figure head in the household, they can truly go after all that they want – if they are organized and prepared!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! Between chasing after my son, a fulfilling full time job, taking care of home and other obligations – I’ve had to juggle managing my own passions. Mommifaceted has morphed into several different phases, but that’s the beauty of the community. I’ve been able to follow what the listeners want and provide them with the best content and space.
Some of the struggles have included prioritizing what truly important because my time is so limited and making sure that I keep those things at the forefront. Now, I’ve got my process down, so as things come up I can be flexible and adapt.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Mommifaceted is a platform for women who are juggling motherhood, career, home, and still want to follow their own passions. The juggle as we call it and finding balance are tough for any woman. This community is a support for mothers to find a tribe of like-minded women who want to be seen as more than just moms.
Currently, Mommifaceted includes a podcast of weekly episodes where I interview successful mothers who have managed to find a way to balance their dreams with motherhood and everyday life. These interviews cover a variety of topics including finances as a working mother, finding your identity again, managing your relationship with your spouse and staying connected with your children.
Mommifaceted will soon host events to bring together women and their children in a space where we can focus on self-care, building lasting relationships and having fun!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always an inquisitive child. Every time we would go on a trip or do something new as a family I would ask 1,000+ questions. I also had a ton of ideas. I’ve always wanted to start a business. I wanted to be a chef and own my own restaurant, I wanted to write a children’s book, I’ve even wanted to have an architecture firm – I still believe there’s a chance for some of these!
