Meet Reece Moffett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reece Moffett.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story? It all started back in 2010 when I received my first point and shoot camera for my birthday. It wasn’t anything great, spectacular, or even above average. Just ok. I started by taking pictures of literally everything. You name it. I had captured it. My creative eye had begun to form and evolve slowly and steadily. Later on, I would start to participate in a photography contest hosted by Green Space Alliance, 4-H in San Antonio, TX., and many more. After years of photography, I started to look for a new challenge in my creative life. Behold filmmaking. The reason filmmaking and cinematography had caught my eye was that with videos there are 24 pictures which make up one second. Thus if “a picture is worth a thousand words,” than a film must be worth millions of words. I loved the new challenge of figuring out how to tell stories in unique, captivating, and inspirational methods on social media. Fast forward to present day 2018, I now work at my church as a production assistant with a specialization in video editing, I do freelance wedding films, and micro content for different brand’s social media. I love what I do and am always trying to create a better video than the last one I have made.

Please tell us about your art.
I create micro-content for a brand’s social media, websites, and anything they need to promote their product. How do I do it? I first contact the desired company I want to partnership with, tell them what I can provide for them, and what in return I would like to receive. Why? Honestly, I believe micro-content is the future because people’s attention spans are getting shorter, and shorter. If you make the content PUNCHY, HYPERACTIVE, and COLORFUL, you are more likely to get the person’s attention and have them engage with your content and brand. I hope people are first amazed and interested to see more of what I have created. Every time I shoot and edit a video I like to add a little easter egg video effect and transition for my eagled views. Only the real fans will notice them.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Honestly, I believe the biggest challenge is creating something 100% new and never seen before. Due to social media creatives and artist get their inspiration very quickly, but at the same time, it is difficult to know if that inspiration is your own and genuinely unique or based off something you have seen or heard on the internet.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can see my work on all of my social media (@reecemoffett). I use Instagram the most because that is where I post my most up to date projects, videos, and pictures. But you can also find me on Youtube (www.youtube.com/reecemoffett), twitter, and basically, any other social media know to humanity. You can support me by visiting my Patreon (www.anotherminimalist.com) where I teach people how to make a living off of Instagram and content big name brands and how to become ambassadors for them.
