Meet Rich Richardson of BUS IT-N-CATCH IT in North west

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rich Richardson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rich. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan. I’m the oldest of two sisters and one brother. I’m the Father of three great children and I have three wonderful grandkids. I met my beautiful wife of 22 years as a young man growing up in the rough streets of Detroit.

In the 90’s, you were either selling drugs or you were working at one of the auto manufacturing plants. I was always hustling to be ‘my own boss‘. At one time, I had my own record label called Creepin’ Records and had several local rap artists. On Ebay, I sold vinyl records overseas where the Northern Soul (Motown) sound is in high-demand. I even ventured into a few multi/level marketing business plans.

I can remember being a young kid watching the garbagemen work in my neighborhood and thinking to myself, “That would be a cool job to grow up and have one day!” Little did I know what God was preparing me for. Instead of growing up to be a garbage man, I grew up to become the patent-holder of my own invention – the BUS IT-N-CATCH IT. God gave me an invention to clean up trash and debris in restaurants where I’ve managed for more than 20 years – how wonderful is that?!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. It has not been a smooth ride. On my off days from work, I’ve gone door-to-door to restaurants to demonstrate how my invention works. I make phone calls to companies, trying to connect with decision-makers and I network heavily on LinkedIn. For the most part, everyone loves the BUS IT-N-CATCH IT. I have that hustle-drive to stay focused and encouraged and it is beginning to pay off!

Just recently, I have a major-brand restaurant taking interest in the BUS IT-N-CATCH IT. We have two working prototypes being tested in their stores. Because of the COVID-19 virus, my invention has caught the eye of many who are making decisions about how to keep restaurant customers and workers safe.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
BUS IT-N-CATCH IT is the flagship product for our restaurant supplier business. We are currently working on developing two other products to be patented and from there, the sky is the limit.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As restaurants fully open, across the country, our long-term plan is to get the BUS IT-N-CATCH IT into every restaurant chain, franchise and Mom ‘n Pop! Here in Texas, our plan is to get the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show on board with the BUS IT-N-CATCH IT. And of course, our business eyes are on the Tillman Fretita prize!

The BUS IT -N- CATCH IT can help mitigate the spread of germs and contaminants not only in restaurants, but in school cafeterias, sports stadiums, arenas and anywhere food is prepared and served.
