Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Foy Jr.
Richard, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My journey of success came from life obstacles, life experiences and personal challenges growing up. Growing up in a dual parent household my life was structured, and well-balanced. My mother was a working woman while my father was an Entrepreneur. Hard work and dedication was a familiar way of life for me.
Life got real for me when I turned eighteen and graduated from High School. After graduating, in 2005 I lost my father, and I immediately had to produce to help support myself, and family. Eighteen months later I had a daughter and the responsibility became more of a requirement to fill. Investing in my daughter gave me the concept and idea of “Eyecan Athletics” an educational training facility for student athletic.
Though it took a few years to develop the concept of the business more in detail but it became an official model in February 2018. Now I can assist parents and student athletics in becoming well-rounded with their passion and competitive sport.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Over the years I have worked as an employee, contractor and it has given me the drive of wanting to become an Entrepreneur. My way of thinking is unconventional and I feel that I am productive as an entrepreneur. I have had to learn some hard lessons on this journey, that has cost me a lot.
Over the last three years, I have invested heavily in my self, in order to become more aware of the pitfalls business, My daughter has developed in to an Elite Student Athletic over the years, She encountered difficulties academically which lead us to invest in resources to help her become a well-rounded student, and athletic.
Please tell us about Eyecan Athletics.
Eye Can Athletic specializes in Sport specific, Health & Wellness Fitness Trainings as well as Educational Support & Development through Texas Academic Education Standard Curriculum.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I learned to Invest in my self more than anything or anybody else. As well gaining more knowledge in every area of life by reading networking and establishing healthy relationships. That’s one formula for success.
