Meet Tajuana Roberts of Roberts Infinite Services in Northeast Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tajuana Roberts.

Tajuana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Wow! Where do I begin? I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I was raised in a neighborhood called Trinity Gardens where I am the second oldest out of seven children my mother gave birth too. I was raised by my uncle world renowned Gospel musician Dr. John T. Fuller Jr. As a child, I watched my mom suffer in silence for years from domestic violence. I say this because I too at the early age of 15 became a victim of domestic violence because I thought it was OK since I watched my mother get abused and stay. Going through this at an early age allowed me to become a strong young woman. I became a mother to a beautiful daughter Trinitee at the age of 27. I watch my mother who was a teenage mom struggle over and over again and I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t go through that as she did. I ended up going to college and obtaining my degree in Business Administration and obtaining a really good job in the Oil & Gas Industry. Statistics showed that I would’ve ended up a teenage mother as my mom did, and a high school or college drop out, but the God I serve said differently!

In 2014 I was a single mother whom was blessed to meet my now amazing and loving husband, Minister James Roberts. As life was great and things were looking up for me and my daughter, in 2015 things took a slight turn. I was one of the hundreds at my employer that was affected by economic layoffs. I was a little bit shocked but excited for the most part because I had started a Plan B! I was introduced to entrepreneurship and I had already started generating over $2000 a month part time! When I was laid off, I knew at that point that I had to go full throttle with my own business so that I would be the deciding factor on how much my checks would be and when I would get a check. I knew then that I wouldn’t be going back into the Corporate America world because I did not want to be surprised, shocked, hurt, angry, emotionally abused with if I was going to have a job or not, so I took things into my own hand. I started my own business Roberts Infinite Services, LLC and I branched Roberts Enterprise under that business and started helping people by catering to them and their needs. The biggest accomplishment in everything I’ve accomplished in my businesses would be starting my Nonprofit organization by the name of Roberts Rescuing Souls Foundation. My nonprofit is a domestic violence organization that is here to provide services and resources to those that have been affected directly and indirectly by domestic violence.

In August 2018, my nonprofit organization was able to service over 25 families and provide them with back to school supplies, personal hygiene items, school uniforms, and gift cards to help those less fortunate and those that have been affected by domestic violence. In December 2018, my organization held an amazing event where we partnered with the Houston Food Bank to bring awareness to the rise of domestic violence, donate non-perishable food items to those in need as well as come together to find a solution in recent rises of Domestic Violence in our communities and in America today. My vision in the next two to three years is to have a facility that is going to house up to 100 families that are still living in silence and needing some form of shelter. My vision is to have a facility that does not make you feel as if you’re in a shelter but to make you feel as if you were at a five-star hotel with the best of the best amenities, the best services, and the best security for these families as they are still living in silence. Also, we are working with the Houston’s Astros Foundation and Minute Maid Park for an upcoming event that we plan on holding in the fall of 2019 in support of domestic violence.

Since I was a little girl, all I have ever known is to serve others and be a blessing to others. I had gone through three very bad domestic violence relationships in my life and at the age of 32, I walked away and never looked back. I want to help as many victims as I can and provide the assistance and support that they need. I have also partnered up with Houston’s own Seperia Preston – Rawls, LPC who has been serving the Houston/Humble, Tx area with counseling for those who have been affected by domestic violence. Even though I run a success Freight Dispatching and Health/Wellness company, my greatest success has come from my Non-Profit and my philanthropic work throughout the city of Houston.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. There isn’t anything in this world worth having that will come without struggles and bumps. There was ever stone you can think of that was thrown my way over the last four years. I’ve lost friends, family (yes family), and partners along the way, but I continued to press through. I have been through a lot, but the one quote that keeps me strong and kept me pushing and pressing my way through is from the Bible.

Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is what kept me!

Please tell us about Roberts Infinite Services.
As I stated earlier, Roberts Infinite Services allowed me to birth my successful Freight Dispatching Business where I contract my services out to Trucking and Logistics companies. However, my Nonprofit Organization Roberts Rescuing Souls is what I’m the proudest of. Our organization is able to supply and assist families with resources and assistance that can help their families and potentially help save a life. What sets my organization apart from others is we self fund everything and we do with a spirit of excellence.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is hanging with my older brother Alton, sister Lillian, and my brother John when we were kids. We had the best time together and we loved and had each other’s back against the world. The bond we shared then was unbreakable and that’s my favorite memory.
