Today we’d like to introduce you to Santiago and Gerardo Urdaneta.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We want to introduce you to those who are at the forefront of this reality!
Primos Millennium from a family idea to a global reality!
Although it is known that every beginning is difficult, the desire, the focus and the perseverance are fundamental pillars to reach the goal.
We are two college students looking for opportunity during the crisis. A pandemic that surprised us and kept us locked up. Faced with this new reality, the mind had to be occupied.
It all started one day at a family reunion, talking about the new routines we found, among other things, a situation that was a permanent problem at home.
Our showers and bathtubs were flooding and we didn’t know why. Taking a good look down the drain, we noticed the huge amount of hair and other things there that got stuck. Cleaning that drain was difficult and unpleasant. Besides not having the tools, the encounter was disgusting. After that particular experience, we were almost traumatized, and we had to do something because that situation would surely arise again, we really did not want to experience it again.
It was then that the great idea arrived! Here we began to look for practical, useful and inexpensive products that would serve to solve that home problem. We found two similar items, one for the kitchen and one for the showers and bathtubs that prevent that stinky situation from occurring. We tested them and they have been a great solution.
So we started acquiring a few and selling them to our family and friends. Then we decided to shape our business by creating our company and being able to publish these products in virtual markets as recommended by our guide and mentor Rafael Urdaneta, Santiago’s father.
And here we are, we are Primos Millennium who, thanks to this global “new normal” world we are offering practical and effective solutions for the home.

Has it been a smooth road?
Yes, it has been difficult to keep expanding our business. These past few months the pandemic has affected our sales and shipments a lot. Also, we are two college students that are starting a new project without even studying how those types of business work. Obviously it was not going to be easy, but with some help from Santiago’s father (Rafael Urdaneta owner of Midland Oil Tools and Services) which has been in the retail business for more than 15 years it has been better than we expected. In addition, it has been rough to list products on Amazon since we’ve also encountered a few issues with the time of the shipments of our products, they are taking more time than usual which affects our sales highly. Due to some lack of experience and some honest mistakes we’ve had to read books, read articles and take online courses to start gathering more knowledge about the online retail business. A few months have passed by, and with more experience due to our college careers focused on business management and marketing and by taking our time to really understand every single detail on how to list products online we are now acquiring more products and we have successfully listed them into Amazon and eBay.

Our business focuses on selling retail products online. We created our first line of Silicone Household Products that will help people save time at very affordable prices. We have listed products online such as silicone funnels, silicone baking mats, silicone iron rest pads and silicone hair stoppers which are essential to fix issues at home. We are very proud of how we accomplished to list our products. We had a lack of experience but thanks to many of our own household issues we got the great idea of creating this business and helping other people with the same internal household issues.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We started our business at College Station, Texas which is where our university (Texas A&M University) is located. We started moving and expanding to Houston because Santiago’s father’s company is also located in Houston. What is beneficial for us is that Houston is a larger city with more businesses just like ours which helps us gather more ideas and speak with other companies to expand our market. Since College Station is located between Dallas, Austin and Houston, it was easier for us to travel and meet other businesses in other areas with no problems. Also, Houston was helpful for us since we found many retail stores that were interested in acquiring many of our products. Houston has been a very important city for our business, we gathered more knowledge from other companies and we will start expanding our products to more cities thanks to it.
