Stephanie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story starts many years ago as a young girl who was always intrigued by skincare products! Starting around the age of 12, I fell in love with lotions, potions, and make up! Fast forward to age 25, I was working at a medspa in The Woodlands serving as a customer service representative while attending Lone Star College. My love for skincare only grew stronger! I was always watching and listening to my fellow employees speak so eloquently about our products, ingredients, and treatments for our clients. It inspired me to get more educated, so I changed my major and decided to attend the world-renowned skincare school, Aveda Institute-Houston.
During my time at Aveda, I learned all about skin care, products, ingredients, and how best to serve clients. Graduating with the highest GPA in my class, I had no shadow of a doubt that I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
After many years of working in multiple medspas, the dream of owning my own space one day seemed to never leave me. After much deliberation and preparation, in early 2018, I left my job and decided to make that dream a reality. In June 2018, Refine Skin Spa was born at Blue Lion Salon Studios-Grandparkway.
Has it been a smooth road?
While the “dream come true” has been nothing short of a blessing, there have been many hiccups along the way. Construction on the building took longer than expected and the opening day was pushed back multiple times. Furniture was delivered broken and had to be returned. Getting my name, brand, and business focus out there has been difficult. Some days, overcoming the fear of it all is even harder.
I remind myself to always stay true to what I know is right, remember why I opened Refine Skin Spa in the first place, and always know God is on my side. While in the beginning processes of opening this business, this scripture came to me, and I lean on and trust it daily:
“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

As an independent esthetician, my environment allows me to cater to each of my clients by helping them make the most of their time spent with me by ensuring comfort, convenience, quality treatments, and control.
With all treatments being custom, I give complimentary consultations which allow me to truly connect with each client and understand each of their needs. We are able to decide on a treatment plan that works for them, products that suit their goals, and budget future appointments.
