Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanyetta Hagger-Buckner.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my own ladies accessory business in 2006. I was small and most of my customers came by word of mouth and doing small local events. I have always loved the idea of helping others, so I started a network of local businesses and my main purpose was providing networking opportunities! Fast forward to the present, there are over 10 businesses and services represented in my network and we do trade shows, church and community conferences, private sorrority events and much more. This network is like a family to me and we all enjoy the opportunity to showcase our talents and services within the Houston and surrounding areas.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing in life is always easy but it is not always hard either! Challenges yes, but I consider them growth opportunities and learn from them. A main struggle for any business is the idea that what you are doing is not progressing or making a difference in those you are serving. To that I say, even if you make just one connection, it is worth it!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Outside of my small business, I am a licensed Insurance Agent with a focus on Employee Health & Benefits. I have been with my company for almost 30 years. Although two totally different professions, the common theme is interracting with the public, making others feel heard and seen and adding a little sunshine in a sometimes dark situation.
What’s next?
My future plans are to continue to meet new people, share new businesses and talents within our great city and continue to increase our visibility.
Pricing:
- My ladies accessories are very affordable. All of my necklace sets are $20 and my fashion brooches are just $10.
