Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Schallert
Hi Tatiana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My musical journey began with my earliest memories of playing the baby grand piano in our family living room at just two years old. I was filled with pure joy and enthusiasm, spending hours immersed in expressing the melodies in my soul. By age three, I had discovered a new passion—the violin. I was so eager to learn that I begged my mom to get me one, and she finally relented, enrolling me in violin lessons. My mom often shares stories about how I would joyfully dance around, singing and playing the violin, making up songs as I went along.
At age four, I performed in my first violin recital, a moment that ignited my love for performing. I looked forward to participating in a local variety show every year, which became some of my favorite childhood memories. My dedication to music and ability to convey emotions through song from a young age deeply inspired my parents and teachers. Around this time, I also had profound encounters with Jesus during my bedtime prayers. These encounters were transformative, shaping my life’s purpose and filling my heart with passion, love, grace, and forgiveness.
When I was six, I was accepted as the youngest member of the local Youth Orchestra. I was so small that I needed a stool for my feet, and my mom would lovingly sew concert dresses for me. My mom, a piano teacher herself, also gave me piano lessons and performed with me at various events. My dad worked at a local art gallery, and I often performed there during art exhibits, filling the space with enchanting music. I am forever grateful for their unwavering support and love.
Summers were dedicated to music camps, where I focused on voice and violin, further honing my skills. Raised in a church, I frequently played the violin during communion on Sundays and joined the youth choir at eight years old, performing seasonally for the congregation. My mom was very strict about the music I listened to, so my early influences were predominantly Christian Alternative and Classical Music.
At thirteen, I won a competition to be a soloist with the Salem Chamber Orchestra, marking a significant milestone in my musical journey. My passion for music continued to flourish as I studied violin at Willamette University under the guidance of a dedicated professor who supported me through high school and college. Concurrently, I pursued studies in worship arts and music performance at Corban University, where I served as Concert Mistress in the orchestra, led the worship band, sang in the choir, and frequently performed as a soloist.
Eventually, my family and I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. There, I received a full scholarship to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I had the opportunity to perform with the local orchestra, further enriching my musical experience and education.
During my college years in California, I met my husband, Caleb, who has been a pillar of support in my musical journey. His love for music brought us closer, and he even taught me to play the guitar, expanding my songwriting repertoire. Together, we actively participated in church services, where I led worship and improvised as a violinist for almost a decade. The love and support of my family, including our four beautiful children, have been instrumental in my growth as a musician and a person.
My passion for singing and songwriting deepened in my teens. I spent my free time creating melodic tunes for voice and piano. After experiencing a series of traumatic events and abuse, I found my true faith and passion for creating conscious spiritual pop music and love songs. I began writing and singing my way through healing, connecting deeply with God, nature, and the Universe. Some of my biggest influences at the time were Enya, Rebecca St. James, DC Talk, Toby Mac, Newsboys, and Coldplay. Their music has given me strength during my most challenging times. One of my favorite memories is listening to Enya with my dad as he would drive me around to art showings for his work and to my orchestra rehearsals and performances. My dad has been my biggest supporter and fan in my journey as an artist. I am so grateful for his unconditional love.
In my twenties, an essential oils starter kit from Young Living transformed my life. During my first month with my oils, I experienced a profound change that launched me into starting my Young Living business. Their products have continued to support me, my family, and friends physically, spiritually, and emotionally for the last decade. Exuberantly, I continued to deepen my studies as I discovered a passion for wellness through the holistic support of plants and essential oils, conscious living, sound healing, and tribal medicine. Over the years, I have facilitated many classes and ceremonies, guiding others on their wellness journey and encounters with God through nature and song.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been far from smooth, marked by hardships and challenges that tested my resilience and faith. Growing up in poverty, I faced the turmoil of a family struggling with mental health issues, the aftermath of multiple devastating car accidents, and a fire that left our home in ruins. Tragedy struck again when my father suffered a near-fatal spider bite, and later, my mother experienced a terrifying medical emergency, leaving me grappling with the fear of losing them both. Amidst these trials, I endured a traumatic experience of abuse within my church community, enduring blame and ostracization that plunged me into deep despair.
Despite these adversities, moments of spiritual awakening and divine intervention provided glimpses of hope and resilience. A profound encounter with the Holy Spirit at thirteen imbued me with strength, faith, and a passion for prayer. At the same time, a near-suicidal attempt led to a transformative revelation of Jesus’s unwavering presence and love. Yet, the journey toward healing and self-discovery was fraught with further challenges, including ongoing cycles of rejection and abuse within religious circles.
In recent years, my musical journey took a profound turn. After a lifetime of traumatic experiences and losses, my spirit felt beaten down. I struggled to trust myself, connect with others, and hold on to my dreams. The deep grief and pain led to severe depression and anxiety, which made it difficult to function as a young mother of four. I found myself isolating, embarrassed by my struggles, and barely able to cope. I struggled to balance my personal life with my passion for music and my journey as an entrepreneur. The California wildfires forced my family and me to relocate to Houston, where we sought a fresh start. This period of upheaval compounded my grief and loss, but it also sparked a moment of rediscovery and healing.
Through immense courage and the support of my loved ones, I began to open up. This journey of rediscovery and rebirth was not easy, but necessary. I realized that I had to love and value myself first to truly step into my unique purpose and be authentic. This epiphany became the foundation for my healing journey.
Amidst the darkness, a glimmer of light emerged through my artistic expression and spiritual journey. The pain and disillusionment catalyzed my rebirth as The Love Faery, a vessel for spreading love and healing through music, nature, and spirituality. Despite the trials and tribulations, a profound encounter with Jesus during a tribal medicine ceremony reignited my faith and purpose, anchoring me in a newfound dedication to my calling.
While the road has been arduous, each hardship has shaped me into the resilient and purpose-driven individual I am today. Through it all, I remain steadfast in my belief in God’s goodness and the transformative power of love, grace, and forgiveness.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been deeply committed to teaching, coaching, and inspiring others throughout my journey, spanning over two decades. My goal of offering holistic, heart-centered singing and music lessons infused with professional techniques is to empower individuals to break free from limiting beliefs and embrace their authentic expression, fostering a deeper connection with themselves and God through their “voice.” Whether through vocalization or playing instruments like the violin, piano, guitar, ukulele, or even drums, I provide a nurturing space for exploration and growth. Additionally, I share my talents through performances at festivals and events, and offer private tribal medicine ceremonies, voice activations, and essential oil support for those seeking profound transformational experiences.
Rooted in my unwavering faith in God and my love for nature, my journey as The Love Faery began with branding my Young Living business as I sought to encapsulate my essence in a name. Inspired by the meanings of my name, Tatiana Karina, I found resonance in embodying the purity of love—a sentiment intertwined with my spirituality. Thus, “The Love Faery” emerged as a timeless reflection of my path, faith, and devotion to love.
My artistic journey took flight with the release of my debut single, “Love Surrounds You (Acoustic),” in July 2020. Crafted amidst California wildfires and subsequent relocation to Houston, this song emerged as a heartfelt tribute to the power of love and God’s protection. Combining ethereal melodic chords and melodies with angelic vocals and emotional violins, people worldwide continue to resonate with the loving source energy anchored in my music. Written from a deep well of healing, it started as a lullaby to my children, and my inner child, as well as a declaration of divine protection and the truth that only love is real. Over time, it evolved into an anthem of love for us all. The song emphasizes the importance of connecting to our hearts, listening to our intuition, and believing that our dreams are part of a greater purpose. Even when everything seems against us, choosing love and believing in God’s goodness and the benevolence of the Universe can guide us through the darkest times.
Collaborating with producer Daniel With The Balance, our shared vision for conscious music led to creating a Remix EP featuring EDM artists Nonc3nts and Alex Lauter, alongside further collaborations with artists like Mashbit. Together, we embarked on a soul-stirring musical journey, culminating in poignant projects like “Burning Flame” and a rendition of Hillsong United’s “Oceans” with my husband, Caleb, also known as “The Grateful Givers.”
I am fully immersed in honing my skills in music production and exploring my unique sound. My debut EDM production, “Labyrinth,” released in December 2023, is a testament to my inner journey of finding solace and healing amidst life’s complexities and waves of emotion. As I evolve artistically, I eagerly anticipate the forthcoming release of more collaborations and my debut album, slated to arrive within the following year.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For those embarking on their journey, I advise embracing every aspect of the path ahead, understanding that successes and setbacks are integral to growth and self-discovery. Go with the flow, trust the process, and remember to breathe. Reflecting on my journey, I wish I had recognized the importance of resilience and self-compassion early on. Challenges are not signs of failure but opportunities for learning and development. Keep showing up and walk in grace.
Stay true to your authentic self and passions, even when faced with doubt or criticism. Your unique voice and perspective hold immense power to make a difference. Surround yourself with supportive individuals who believe in your potential and can offer guidance and encouragement.
Here are some key points I wish I had known when I started:
1. Embrace Your Individual Journey: Stay in your lane. Understand that challenges are growth opportunities, shaping you into a more resilient and authentic artist. Suffering leads to some of the most meaningful and impactful art. Let go of comparison.
2. Prioritize Self-Love and Care: Love yourself first. Nurture your well-being to sustain your creativity and passion. Remember, self-care is essential to maintaining your artistic spark. Fill up your cup so you can fill up others. Immerse yourself in nature frequently and get yourself an arsenal of essential oils for additional support. Drink more living water and remember to breathe deep. Move your body – every movement counts.
3. Build Supportive Connections: Cultivate a network of supportive individuals who understand your journey and can offer encouragement and collaboration opportunities. Always be yourself and be honest; let others adjust. Always forgive.
4. Always Keep Learning: Continuously seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. Keep practicing! Take small steps toward your goals every day. Celebrate every small win as much as you do the big ones.
5. Embrace Authenticity: Focus on expressing your passion authentically rather than striving for perfection. Your genuine creativity will resonate more deeply with others. Stay true.
6. Trust Your Intuition: Follow your intuition and inner voice. Trust in your unique perspective and creativity, and don’t be afraid to take risks in pursuit of your artistic vision. Everyone’s fingerprints are unique for a reason.
7. Keep Showing Up: Be grateful for where and who you are right now. Remember who you are and know that God is working through you and opening the path for you. Let go of your ego. Have faith and trust. Be a vessel.
8. Anchor Your Faith: Trust God will illuminate your path step by step, and always Pray. Prayer truly can move mountains by grace through faith. It is our faith that heals, guides and liberates us. You are the medicine. Your presence makes a difference.
Starting out may feel daunting, but with perseverance, faith, grace, and an anchored connection to your passion and relationship with God, you can navigate the challenges and create a meaningful and fulfilling artistic journey.
