Founder and Lead Event Consultant DeRonica is a dedicated wife and mother with a background in corporate finance. Lasting eMpressions a full-service event production, design and lifestyle company that produces intimate to large-scale events such as private social functions as well as corporate, nonprofit & collegiate events.
She is noted as being self-taught in the Event management/hospitality industry with more than 10 years of experience and noted as one of the best in the locally.
In addition to modern and elegant style for planning she brings the art of creativity and personalization to every event. She is passionate about her craft and dedicated to providing quality service to all her clients.
Over the years, she and her team have been involved with and overseen the production and design of numerous private events for multiple corporations, local celebrities, nonprofit organizations as well as some political clients. Her portfolio contains countless distinguished clients.
Best known for designing a series of private events for Grammy Award-winning artists, as well as Hollywood royalty, local and national politicians. She has partnered with the NFL for multiple Super Bowl events as well as the NBA for all-star events throughout the country. Working with high profile celebrities to support to the Astros Urban Youth academy as well as the TJ Ford foundation locally. In 2015, she received congressional recognition from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for her work in the community, quickly followed by Lone Star College Business of the Year. Currently serving as an active member of the Tri City Chamber of Commerce.
Dedicated to philanthropy and giving back to the community has been her mission. Volunteering and organizing teams for non-profit organizations annually, raising money and awareness for causes within the Houston and surrounding areas. Focusing on the next 10 years Mrs. Horn can is dedicated to leaving a ‘Lasting eMpression’ one event at a time.
*A teenage single mother prevailed through the trials of upbringing with my grandparents and attempting to do life as a mother while still being a child myself.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, being in business doesn’t make it as easy as social media portrays. There are a lot of bad days and days I’ve wanted to quit. Balancing life as a wife, mother and business owner is sometimes a challenge.
Clients are demanding, however being a family oriented person I had to figure out how to balance it all while making sure I ran a respectable and reputable business.
Being able to adjust when necessary and not falling into the mentality of competition, yet collaborator with others who’re in the same field.
Advice: I’m a Christian woman and rely on my faith to get me through a lot. Don’t quit, watching the competition won’t get you ahead it’ll actually put you behind. Remember to take the lessons in failures and satisfying everyone usually results in you being unhappy. Finally find balance and take time off…. even if it’s without pay. Plan to save money for the times when business is slow.

We manage events for local and international high profile celebrities, clients are typically referred to us by others because of our level of expertise, non-disclosure and confidentiality clauses promised during our negotiations.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My Grandmother: born in 1919 she experienced a lot of adversity with the climate within her time and she still managed to raise her children and go to college. At 60 she was charged to take on a new task of raising a child (me). Beginning her 60’s becoming a caretaker for a young child after raising her 6 years prior. Always being a gracious woman, working hard to take care of the family/children/community/others showed me how to love and be a caretaker even through adversity. Showing that even when things we’re the best there was still a reason to be positive. Never sweating the small stuff.
