Meet Trailblazer Dominique Myrie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Myrie.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been an active person who played basketball in high school and was an active track runner. In 2012, I took my love for fitness to a new level by adopting a pescatarian lifestyle and later in 2016 competed in my first fitness competition.

I then became a first-time mom in April 2018, and my body suddenly was not as fit as it used to be. I was hard on myself for not looking like I used to before the baby, and it would weigh on me mentally and I would get angry every time I’d mention to someone how I used to look. I would lay in bed, holding my daughter.

I changed gears, adopted the “one day at a time” mental attitude and started working on myself; mentally, spiritually and physically. I went back to what I knew and implemented meditation, great nutrition, weight lifting, and cardio. I soon started sharing my postpartum fitness journey on social media which led to many women asking questions about how to get started with their own fitness journey. I knew then that I needed to share with other women all that I know on focusing on internal and external health while feeling strong and empowered in their own skin. In a nutshell, I created Beautifully Individualized. As a coach, my eBook was born as a guide to help to get woman fit the right way by putting your mental state first. I’m sharing this truth with any and every woman who wants to adopt a healthier lifestyle while becoming a stronger, confident woman “one day at a time.” The eBook & coaching is all about real women, real workouts and real results, one day at a time. With the hopes of becoming that woman you’d one day wished to grow to be; beautifully individualized.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I struggled with self-doubt and consistency. Questioning and doubting myself on if what I have to offer is valuable and helpful to other women. I would say other women just do it!! I rather you do it and fail then to not have done what you desire to accomplish at all. Best case you do it and knock it out of the park. If you don’t do it, someone else will, so why not let it be you!

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I help women by coaching them on how to get started on their fitness goals/journey, and living an overall healthier life in & out. I’m most proud of how far I have come mentally and physically pre & post-baby; creating an environment to foster liked minded women who are striving to be the best they can be as women, wife or mother. What sets me apart from others is my contagious personality and my mindset of me believing that women can do anything we want if we just take it one day at a time and just do it.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
With consistency, patience you can accomplish any dream you desire. Just do it, and chop at the goal one day at a time!
