Meet Victoria Simo of Ballet and Pilates by Victoria in Northwest Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Simo.

Victoria, owner of Ballet and Pilates by Victoria, performed almost 10 years with Texas Ballet Theater, where she danced Principal roles including “Alice” in Alice in Wonderland and “Snow Queen” in The Nutcracker. Victoria was classically trained in Pilates at Houston Ballet and has been teaching since 2002. She has been instructing an array of levels and ages, ranging from budding ballerinas to professionals. Her goal is to inspire you and your children by sharing her knowledge of dance and Pilates. Today, the studio offers 60 classes per week and hosts several private sessions. The large studio offers classes in Reformer, Barre, Pilates and Ballet for all ages.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
After I retired from a long career as a ballerina, I knew I wanted to open a studio to offer classes to share my passion for fitness and ballet. In the first year, we exploded and very quickly! I was lucky enough to grow a fabulous team of instructors that helped us expand our class schedule in Reformer, Barre, Pilates and Children’s Ballet.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Ballet and Pilates by Victoria – what should we know?
We offer classes for everyone! Our magical ballet classes for ages 18 months and up are perfect for children wanting to leap, skip and twirl.  Adult clients want to get sweaty, have fun and feel a deep muscle burn. Reformer, Barre and Pilates gives just that. Free childcare is provided and drop ins are welcome.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My Mom, Mary Wadsworth,  gave me my love of fitness and dance. I am truly thankful to have grown up with a Mom that showed me that moving your body can make you feel strong, happy and more confident.
