Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Gomez.
Giovanni, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2017, I was living in Florida with my wife and two girls, working for Morrow equipment. With our family and friends all in Houston Texas, I found myself trying to stay busy. My wife at the time worked for a Real estate/property management company and they needed a handyman to handle all their property repairs. As much as I liked doing home repairs, my passion is welding, so I called upon my family got a small loan and bought a welding machine. We moved to back to Houston in 2018 and officially started Weldz-R-Us welding and fabrication on my birthday in April 2018
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting out was not a smooth road at all. With the support of my wife and family, I started working with just a small Lincoln 210 mp welding machine, a handful of tools and working out of the back of my Jeep taking on small jobs.
No one prepares you enough on the logistics of running a small business and all of the accounting/bookkeeping that’s associated with it. It’s definitely been a learning experience all throughout, but you adapt and overcome.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
For me, conquering the fear of starting my own business and seeing the continued growth has become my pride.
