Meet Xavier Joseph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Joseph.

Xavier, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began my journey as a dancer when I was 13 years old. I traveled and competed in many national dance competitions winning four national championships with my tap routines between the ages of 13 and 17. At the age of 15 I began training my voice in Opera as a Tenor. Soon after I began auditioning and landed roles in musicals at various different productions at Theatre Under The Stars. Towards the end of my professional dance career I joined a country western swing dance group known as the “Elite Wranglers”. Being on this team introduced me to the amazing world of country music. My obsession with this genre quickly grew and after attending my first concert (Brad Paisley), I knew I had found my forever passion. Shortly thereafter, I took up guitar to grow my arsenal of skills.

This brings me to the beginning of 2018 where I decided it was time to make the leap full force into pursing my dream of being a touring country music artist. I release my first single title “Long Overdue”, in April of 2018, which quickly found its way onto the TRR Charts as well as give me the opportunity to begin performing at different bars and honky tonks around Texas.

Beginning in 2020 I formed a band, comprised of some amazing players, and began performing on legendary stages, such as “Cheatham Street Warehouse”. I have also just released a new single titled “Tomorrow’s Another Night”, which is my first romantic single. I have tons of shows lined up, and once we’re allowed to get back on the road, can’t wait to begin really make my mark on Texas.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No story is without its ups and downs. I’m fortunate to say I have definitely had more ups than downs, but there has still been challenges to get to this point and there will be more challenges in the future. I have had challenges such as dealing with a few “interesting” people, having to let go of a band member, and having people try to change my show, but the toughest by a landslide has been convincing others to take a chance on me. I feel this is probably a challenge that most have had in their climb to success. At this point I just work has hard as I can to show others what I can bring to the table and every day I feel a little closer to my goal.

Please tell us about your work.
I am a Texas country music singer currently touring around Texas performing with my new band! I have released four singles, three of which have landed within the top 60 in the Texas Regional Radio Chart top 100 chart, with the third one on its way to surpass them. I am most proud of the team I have been able to put together that has allowed me to stand out in many ways! Because of my amazing band we put on a show that is so exciting and makes it impossible to stay in your seat. I have an amazing promoter, Tiffini Brock at Blue Lark Entertainment!

What currently sets me apart from others is that I don’t release a song, create a band, agree to a logo, order merch, etc. unless I know I have the best quality product I can put out there. It’s easy in the beginning stages to go for the cheapest recording studio, put a band together quickly because it gets you on stage faster, or order the $8 shirt instead of the $10 to save cost but the $8 shrinks after one wash. But what you do at the beginning sets the ton for what you will do for the rest of your career. I have made quality, in all I do, a priority even if it slows me down just a little to get it right.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
What I would’ve done differently is get to the conclusion that I want to pursue this path of Country Music sooner so that I could’ve started three years earlier. But now that I am here I’m making up for lost time and showing the world what I have to offer. When you have a dream don’t spend too much time wondering how it will work or how you’re going to get to the end goal before you start. Put that goal in your mind and just begin pursuing it. Everyday you’ll get a little closer and that vision will become clearer as time goes by.
