Today we’d like to introduce you to Yng Josh.
Yng, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started over 12 years ago making beats and drum patterns with a mpc 2000 xl. Throughout that process I became apart of a production team known as JustJosh we forming that name because everyone in the group name started with just or josh. A couple years After forming our group we put out a live arrangement to drakes “I’m on one” and that got the attention of a few industry people who wanted us to produce a live arrangement for the artist Quincy that ft French Montana “friends first” so we set out to Los Angeles California to do the arrangement and never left, we stayed to pursue our dreams in becoming a working production group. We worked everyday for about two years creating a min 10 tracks a day. That process led us a year later to working with Artist such as Teeflii, Dom Kennedy, Keke Palmer, and more after living in La for some time finally got a break when Teeflii and myself went to Nipsey Hussle studio. That night we cut seven records and one of those records was “Keys to the city” I knew it was a banger soon as I heard the hook.
A couple of days after Nip told us that the record would make the album!! And in 2018 victory lap the album was released and Keys to the city was there!!! After the release I moved back to Houston to work with more Houston Artist which led me to 281 studios in North Houston. I began working there as an audio engineer and from there I produced / Engineered artist such as. Sauce Walka, OtB Fastlane, RizzoRizzo, Dj Xo, Prince Ink, YRN, Boston George, RayFace, GoYayo, Peso and more working with them later that year found out that the album I was apart of just got a Grammy nomination for the best album of the year!!!! Right now I’m still working still learning. The latest record I produced is Sauce Walka ft Peso “Drip Harder” on his Ghetto Gospel album. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been some struggles and sacrifices made!! I struggled with being consistent even though life was happening. Not having any money in a city where having no money is not an option was the toughest. But believing in God with brothers that cared about you got me through.

JustJosh Music Group is a team of producers/musicians/engineers. We are most known for our Production and most proud moment is the Grammy nomination!! What sets us apart from others: you can’t put us in a box. Whatever you need musically we can handle and do the job.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I can remember growing up My God Father would let me listen to all kinds of music, learning different genres of songs I believe put in this position today!!
