Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia Williamson
Hi Asia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I launched Pūr Hair Extensions May of 2018. It all began in 2017 while working in a salon and I did a lot of hair exiension services. At the time, I didn’t have my own line of hair extensions so I would support local businesses that did.
It was shortly after when I realized how much extra money, I could be making selling my own to my clients.
Me personally, I have always had a love for hair extensions so I thought why not start my research of finding a hair supplier. I went through 4 hair vendors and about $2500 wasted before I found my vendor I have now. I checked for overall quality, smell, texture, how well it takes color and shedding.
I FINALLY found the one! I started marketing once I came up with the name for the extensions. I openly asked the salon for names and we came up with “pure hair extensions.” Instead of keeping it regular, I decided to have Pūr spelled in French to keep it unique. With the support of my clients, friends and family, my business took off!
Fast forward to today, we are now a growing SIX FIGURE business, doing well and continuously growing!
We are in year 7 and we plan to keep going here in our new home, Houston Texas!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. The price of hair extensions continues to rise each year which makes it harder to keep inventory on hand for the convenience of local customers. It also makes it harder to make the hair affordable.
We are in a tough time economically, so for some, extensions aren’t in the budget; summer is also our slow season. No matter what we push forward and never stop promoting the business!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an advanced licensed cosmetologist, cosmetology instructor, scalp care specialist, and owner of Pūr Hair Extensions.
I specialize in all phases of hair. I love to do natural hair and anything that involves hair extensions. My new love is scalp care!
I am known for my professionalism, in and out service, and quality work, and that’s what sets me apart from others. I’m very punctual. I take into consideration people’s time; never overbooking and servicing one client at a time so that l’m not rushing and can provide a full experience with just me and the client.
I am most proud of the fact that this August will make 1 3 years l’ve been a cosmetologist and l’ve stayed consistent. Most people know me as
‘TheeHairdoc” and that has been my brand name since I graduated cos school. My hands create magic and make women feel and look better. It’s my passion every single day, That’s what I love most about my job.
This August will make 8 years self-employed, 13 years a cosmetologist and Pur hair Extensions is 7. I am so proud of my accomplishments and grateful to share my talents here in Houston Texas! It has been an amazing experience so far.

Integrity matters most to me because honestly and truth gets people to believe in you. I run my businesses truthfully and I’m very transparent. Nothing is perfect, but integrity behind a brand goes a long way!
