Rising Stars: Meet Ayee Stoneyy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayee Stoneyy.

Hi Ayee , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Man I honestly started making beats after a break up around 2016. I was in college and my girl had just left me. So I said how can I make sure she regret this lol. I bought a brand new MacBook and never looked back. I began making terrible beats on garage band and I learned how to use Fruity Loops from my friend JakeO. And the rest is history.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If I’m allowed to curse man hell nah it wasn’t an easy road. From being trash to actually getting good at making beats, and learning how to audio engineer. Some of my biggest struggles on the way was just broke rappers and people who were users and abusers. If you ask me right now while I’m in my stage of what I call “temporary retirement” there’s only 2 artists who have actually reached out and checked on me or my mental fatigue of this industry. Shoutout Baby D and Arabian Tay. But yea just the users and abusers have been the most challenging part of this journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Im a music producer. I build people songs from the ground up. From the beat, to lyrics, to recording the song, mixing the song and delivering the final product.

I specialize in bounce and space in beat making.

I’m known for recording and producing local talent.

The thing I’m most proud of inside my work is the fact that I’m able to create a whole vibe for artists and give them an amazing product.

What sets me apart from others is I formed my own sound over years while a lot of other producers rely on the same industry type beat style of production. Everybody using pain beats, future type beats etc… I just feel like nobody original no more ya know?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Man growing up I was a pretty funny dude. Outgoing personality but I had a temper so just as funny and geeky as I was I would be ready to get on you just as quick. I played sports mainly growing up. Music was kind of my brother Jaimond’s thing. I was always around him so as I got older it was something I just kind of naturally picked up. But I grew up the normal suburban kid lifestyle. Grandmas house with my cousins and family every Friday and would be mad we have to leave and go home Sunday so we can go to school. I went to Lake Olympia Middle school out here in Missouri City or the Mo lol.

I went to Elkins and Ridge Point High School where I played basketball there as well. In school I was kind of a class clown/goofball. I really just wanted to be with the guys all the time. When I say the guys that just means my friends.
