Rising Stars: Meet Christopher Tellison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Tellison.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a young entrepreneur and college student from Houston, Texas I have had an interest in fashion since I was about 12. My older cousin used to have all of the clothes and shoes I wanted so I learned a lot from him when it comes to appearance. I started my first clothing brand when I was 17 going on 18 and it was with a best friend of mine and it was actually pretty successful for high school kids. I moved on to college and he started working so it was a little tougher to manage the business for us and we both had so much learning to do so it fell apart. But recently I’ve found my passion to get back into clothing on my own and take it to a new innovative space with some of the ideas I have. Now, 1Nation is the brand I plan to make a global name in the future!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all I’m still balancing the weight of carrying the whole business, school, and life but I plan to make some more adjustments business wise this summer and really get the ball rolling! Some struggles are finding ways to run the clothing company the most professional way possible, so right now I am doing only online but I still have to get samples and photo shoots in order to really take the brand to the next level. Marketing is really big when it comes to clothing and you have to make sure you stay on top of it!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently and college student looking to graduate with a degree in Business Marketing and use my degree to further push my brand and take it to the next level. I have many things I am engaged in at the moment I have been in agriculture so I know how to grow some of my own food and what it takes to run a small homestead. While learning how t grow food and farm is where I found the passion to want to start up a clothing brand again and I knew if I put the work in and plant the right see my brand would blossom. I am most proud of the fact that I have had many set back in my life yet I am still finding ways to better myself and continue to grow in a positive way no matter what mistakes I made. I am different be because the creative way I put my clothes together has always been ahead of its time and I have been around fashion since a young kid and I have had success at an early age as well. Most importantly this is the main goal in my life and that puts a fire in me that can’t be matched!

How do you think about luck?
I’m not too sure how much luck has played in my life or business I try not to rely on luck good or bad so I hope this is a feasible answer.
