Hi Inga, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my company almost ten years ago, and ever since, silk has been the fabric of my days. I paint on it almost daily — scarves, shawls, pillowcases, and pieces that exist simply as art. Each brushstroke lifts my spirit, and each finished work seems to brighten the world around me just a little more.
Teaching has become one of the most beautiful parts of my journey. In my classes and workshops, I watch students soften, open, and let themselves drift with the colors as they glide across the luxurious surface of silk. There is a quiet magic in seeing someone relax into creativity, letting the paint lead them into a gentler rhythm.
And then there are the fashion shows — vibrant, electric moments that pulse with joy. Preparing for them fills me with anticipation, and stepping into the whirlwind of the event brings a rush of adrenaline that reminds me why I love this path so deeply.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey unfolded smoothly, and I approached every challenge with a smile. I hold the belief that true mastery lies in making even the hardest work look easy, natural, and weightless.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Every piece I make starts the same way: with a white silk fabric. I sketch until I know exactly what I want to bring onto the silk. Then I stretch the fabric on a frame — the old way — and that’s when the real work begins.
I draw every line and every shape by hand. I blend the dyes, knowing I can only control them so much. That’s the magic of silk painting for me: the moment I have to let go and let the colors flow.
When the painting is done, I continue the traditional process. I steam every piece for 3,5 hours so the colors become permanent. Then I wash it, iron it, finish it — all by hand.
What sets me apart is simple:
I still do every step myself.
Hand‑sketched, hand‑stretched, hand‑painted, hand‑finished.

I like Houston for its incredible diversity — only one in seven residents was actually born there, which makes the city feel like a global crossroads. I’m drawn to its art scene, full of galleries, creative communities, and people who constantly reinvent what the city can be. And the food? Houston is a culinary universe. You can find any cuisine from anywhere in the world, often within just a few blocks.
The only thing I can’t stand is the hot, humid Houston summer. It’s relentless.
