Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Redding.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started with a strong work ethic early on. My first job was at Burger King, and I worked in fast food throughout my teenage years. That experience taught me customer service, teamwork, and how to work under pressure from a very young age.
After graduating high school, I went to community college and earned my diploma as a Medical Assistant. From there, I followed a creative passion and went to college for Digital Film and Video Production.
While I was in school, I worked for Milwaukee Public Schools and in several group homes. Working with kids and families was incredibly rewarding and taught me patience, communication, and how to really connect with people.
I then made a shift and worked as a Blackjack Dealer at a casino. That role sharpened my ability to build rapport quickly, read people, and stay focused in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
That combination of people skills and performance-driven work is what drew me to sales. For the last 15+ years, I’ve built my career in the sales industry, where I’ve been able to bring together everything I’ve learned — work ethic, empathy, communication, and drive — to build relationships and deliver results.
Where I am today is a result of every one of those steps. I didn’t take a traditional path, but each chapter gave me a skill set that makes me stronger in sales and in business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If I’m being honest, not at all.
My journey has been full of pivots. I went from fast food, to healthcare, to film school, to working with youth, to dealing cards in a casino, to building a 15+ year career in sales. On paper it looks scattered, but in real life it was me trying to find where I fit while still having to pay bills and keep going.
The biggest struggle was not having a straight-line path. I had to work multiple jobs while in school, I had to walk away from fields I studied for, and I had to rebuild my confidence every time I started over in a new industry.
Working with kids in schools and group homes was rewarding but heavy. Working in the casino taught me toughness. And sales taught me that rejection is part of the process and you can’t take it personal.
The smooth road would have been easier, but it wouldn’t have prepared me for where I am today. Every difficult season gave me a skill, a lesson, and thicker skin. I’m proud that I kept going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m most proud of my longevity and my evolution. I didn’t have a straight path. I earned a diploma as a Medical Assistant, went to college for Digital Film and Video Production, worked in education and group homes while putting myself through school, worked in a casino, and then built a 15+ year career in sales from the ground up. I’m proud that I never stayed stuck. Every time I had to pivot, I did — and I made it work. I’m also proud of the impact I’ve had on the clients and teams I’ve worked with along the way.
What sets me apart?
What sets me apart is my background. Most people in sales have only done sales. I’ve worked in fast food, healthcare, education, youth services, gaming, and sales. That means I know how to talk to anyone, adapt to any environment, and read a room quickly. I bring empathy from working with kids and families, composure from working in a high-pressure casino, creativity from film school, and grit from starting at the bottom. I don’t just sell — I understand people, and that’s something you can’t teach from a sales manual.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my daughter, my faith in God, my joy for life, and the business I created, La’Donn Crowned.
My daughter is my greatest joy. She is my motivation, my why, and my reminder of what unconditional love really is. Everything I do, I do to make her proud and to show her that no matter where you start — whether it’s Burger King as your first job or working multiple jobs through college — you can build the life you want if you keep going.
God is my foundation. Through every chapter of my journey — from earning my Medical Assistant diploma, to studying Digital Film and Video Production, to working in Milwaukee Public Schools and group homes, to dealing Blackjack, to building 15+ years in sales — my faith is what kept me grounded. It gives me peace, direction, and strength when the road isn’t smooth.
My joy for life is my mindset. I choose joy. I’m grateful for growth, for lessons, for people, for laughter. I don’t take the small moments for granted.
And La’Donn Crowned makes me happy because it’s mine. It’s purpose turned into a brand. I created something that represents confidence, resilience, and royalty — even when life doesn’t feel royal. It allows me to be creative, to empower other women, and to build a legacy that is bigger than sales. It’s proof that I can take everything I’ve learned over 15+ years and pour it into something that inspires others to wear their crown.
