Rising Stars: Meet TIFFANIE PETETT of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to TIFFANIE PETETT.

Hi TIFFANIE, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in LA, raised in the Bay Area of California. After 12 years post grad school in LA, I moved to Houston to explore a new city and have been here for 2.5 years now.

I work as a strategic partnerships and revenue leader with more than a decade of experience building Fortune 500 relationships across media, entertainment and the creator economy. I currently serve as the Strategic Brand Partnerships Lead at Influential, a Publicis Groupe company, where I develop integrated creator strategies and drive multimillion-dollar growth for leading brands. I’m also a Graduate Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, teaching strategic communications and mentoring emerging industry professionals.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was born into a less than stable environment, but for the most part, grew up a healthy and happy kid. We weren’t rich, but I didn’t feel broke. I was cognizant early on of what cost money and knew not to ask for certain things if they did. I started working as a babysitter when I was 10, and got my first real job at 16 at a restaurant. I knew I had to be responsible for my own destiny, and financial stability was a massive part of it. I excelled in school, went to graduate school “for the stamp” because I knew it would open me up to more career opportunities. Both grad and undergrad had their fair share of challenges, but I wouldn’t say I’d change anything. Everything that’s happened to me was for a reason, and because it was written by someone higher than me, and I have to believe that.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I lead strategic brand partnerships and revenue growth within the creator and influencer marketing industry. I work closely with Fortune 500 brands to understand their business and marketing objectives, then develop customized creator-led strategies that help them reach the right audiences and drive measurable results.

My role spans the full partnership lifecycle—from identifying new business opportunities and leading pitches to negotiating contracts, expanding client relationships and overseeing the transition from sale to campaign execution. I also collaborate across strategy, creative, talent, media and production teams to ensure each program delivers against the client’s goals.

As much as I’m proud of the robust social media campaigns I’ve been able to orchestrate and edify emerging black and brown creators, I am quite proud to be a Graduate Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California. The course is called Influencer Relationship Management and it focuses on how influencer marketing in today’s economy works, and what makes influencer programs successful. I was asked to build this program back in 2022, and started teaching it officially in 2024. Now it’s garnered multiple sessions being taught by my colleagues, and it’s great to see how each session differs after the next based on how quickly social media changes.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Definitely the hardest question since social media changes daily. But I do see the creator economy continue to grow, and the industry will remain profitable. Partnership structures will vary, but the need to impact upon audiences online will continue to be central to major marketing, PR and advertising efforts.
