Cynthia , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day right now , is thinking in advance for the week. What student needs what from me. What chapter are they on. How can i help them succeed into successful adults , not only manicurists. I’m always thinking of others.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Mrs Cynthia. Licensed manicurist , instructor , owner of stay ready nails academy. A Texas accredited manicurist school in Houston Tx. I own a professional nail product line as well. What makes me interesting , stand out , is that , I’m ME!! I’m myself online and in the classroom. The instructor in me , Mrs Cain is still there tho. I’m not working on multiple locations like others. I’m just focusing on the one location, and building up our online academy , so others from other states , can enroll .
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I do not have to be a Dr or Lawyer , to be successful. That was what i was told in school. Your passion is what makes you powerful. We don’t know our passion sometimes untill late in life. I found mines in my 40’s. Doing nails is a successful career
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
I realized now as an adult , as a kid , just watching my aunts put on makeup and polish their nails made me happy. Watching the soap operas with my grandmothers made me feel glamorous. I use to say, that’s going to be me one day. Walking around my house in long gowns , big rings and long red nails.

Yes ! I keep it professionally. But the social media stay ready is real . That’s me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would focus on the ones i know that needs / wants my help. I tend to try to help everyone. Just because someone attached themselves to you , does not mean they want help.
