Gary , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Gary Bisha, broker and co owner of My Castle Realty and TexasFSBO.com, based here in Houston. My Castle Realty is a locally owned, independent brokerage that’s helped thousands of Texas homeowners sell their properties while saving thousands in commissions. We specialize in Flat Fee MLS and For Sale by Owner (FSBO) listings — giving sellers the same MLS exposure as traditional agents, but with more control and major cost savings.
What makes us unique is that we’ve built a model that combines technology, transparency, and real human support. Unlike many big-box brokerages or “do-it-yourself” platforms, our clients get hands-on help from experienced licensed agents every step of the way. We’ve been recognized by the Houston Business Journal and Texas Monthly Magazine, and we’ve maintained a 4.9-star HAR rating — something I’m especially proud of because it reflects our clients’ success and satisfaction.
Right now, we’re focused on expanding our full service, flat-fee and hybrid listing services across Texas, helping even more homeowners take control of their sale without sacrificing professional guidance or results.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was simply someone who believed in doing things differently and challenging the “that’s just how it’s done” mindset. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak — curious, independent, and a bit stubborn about finding better ways to do things. That’s what ultimately led me to start My Castle Realty.
I saw that the traditional real estate model didn’t always serve sellers fairly — people were paying huge commissions for services that could be streamlined. So I built a business around empowering homeowners, giving them the tools, transparency, and support they need to sell on their terms.
At my core, I’m still that same person — someone who questions the status quo, values independence, and believes success should be earned by creating real value for others.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Something I really miss — and probably not many people know this — is my previous life in Vermont and Upstate NY. I grew up surrounded by close friends and family, and there’s something about that small-town connection and the natural beauty of Vermont and Upstate NY that stays with you. Life and business eventually brought me to Texas, which I love for its energy and opportunity, but I’ll always miss those roots — the slower pace, familiar faces, and sense of community that shaped who I am today.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Too many people are so busy trying to outsmart everyone else that they lose sight of what really matters. For me, success has always come from putting people first — treating clients like family, being honest, and helping others reach their goals. When you focus on doing the right thing, the rest takes care of itself.
