Heather Wiltshire shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Heather, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
As a homeschool mom, the first 90 minutes of my day are extremely important to me. I wake up before my family to prepare my day, drink my coffee, workout and walk everyday. Without this time, my day feels off. It’s not that I love waking up early, it’s just that after my family is awake, the next 15 hours is devoted to everyone else. I enjoy having that quiet time to start my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a momma of two and a stay at home/homeschool mom. As a busy mom, I struggled to find time for myself to get ready and feel put together for the day. For years I had stopped doing my makeup and lived in my workout clothes. I knew if I was going to change something, it needed to be something that was quick and easy. I decided to take a chance and change my makeup routine. Seint makeup offered a one pallet makeup system that seemed so easy to use and I thought why not!? I fell in love with how quickly I could do my makeup in under 10 minutes! I felt more put together, confident and ready to tackle the day. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with other moms who struggled to find time for themselves. I love helping woman with their color matches and teaching them how use it! It’s a joy to help women feel beautiful in their own skin!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believed I was shy as a child. But as I got older, I realized it wasn’t about being shy, but more about being selective with who I opened up to in a smaller setting. I love working with women one on one and hearing about their personal skin and makeup struggles. It is easier to be vulnerable in small setting. I enjoy tackling skin and makeup challenges together and helping women feel confident again!
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear was what others would think. Showing up on social media with no makeup can seem really scary! But I quickly realized that all of us women have many of the same skin and makeup struggles. There is something so powerful about “me too.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
When I share makeup tips and tricks, I always make sure it’s in natural light. No filters. I try to show women just how easy and simple a small amount of makeup, placed in the right areas, can make the biggest impact! Less is more! Especially as we mature. Let’s just be real!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I am most at peace in nature. I love being outside with my kids at parks or hikes. I love the beach and river trips. Something about nature is just so calming to me.
