Hi Steven, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I have always believed that integrity and your name in this business is all you have. Once you have lost that you can kiss your business good bye. Positive comments don’t go as far as negative comments so I have always chose to be upfront and honest with my clients. Basically under promise and over deliver. I believe that has what has made my business grow over the last 35 years.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the president of jewelry appraisal services in Houston Texas. I am a GIA Gemologist. We provide appraisals for insurance, estates, divorce and liquidation purposes.by appointment while you wait. We also offer a brokering service to assist in selling unwanted jewelry in a safe and confidential environment. We also provide jewelry and watch repair.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I believe it was my dad who taught me that honest hard work and determination would take me to where I wanted to be. I also believe that he taught me to believe in myself and that anything was possible if you put your mind to it
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I never gave up even when times were tough. It was difficult when I first opened the business but I believed in what I was doing

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would retire and spend time with my wife traveling and watching my grandkids grow up
