I am obsessed with Bora Bora. I have my whole trip planned and I am just taking one photo at a time to get there. My journey as a photographer started when my first child was born in 2007. It’s hard to believe that was 10 years ago. I always enjoyed taking photos of friends when I was growing up, but having a child changed everything. Like most mom’s, I didn’t want to miss a moment; every smile, laugh, and crinkle of the nose was important. I took pride in being able to capture every moment. Then I had a friend who saw more in me than I saw in myself. She asked me to take her maternity photos for her. Afterwards, other people saw her photos and started asking me to take their photos. I started training in Soo Bahk Do when I was in college going for a degree in chemical dependency counseling. I had been in the army for four years (87-91) and was now using my army college fund. I needed some PE credits and thinking of my new daughter, Liked the idea of self-defense. Master Ron Williams was teaching at the college at that time and our classes were always very exciting and active. After the class was over, I saw him at a Murphy’s Deli and he asked me to come to the studio and join the regular adult class. I told him that I was a college student and did not have any money. He replied by asking me if I could do anything. I mentioned that I was handy with a hammer. Read More>>

When I went to college in 2002, I was studying environmental science, and when I was there I had to take some electives. I chose to take a photography class. My professor was Mr. Byers and at the time I did not know he was going to have a major impact on my life. Two years in to college, I change my major to Photojournalism. The college that I was going to Brevard College, did not have a true Photojournalism Department at that time but they had an Art Department and a Journalism department. I had the privilege to work with the best minds the college had to offer to me in my education. Read More>>

We started off with a large piece of land on Lake Conroe that was originally going to be only for a large condominium development. After teaming up with a real estate development group out of Houston, we decided to turn what we had into a multi-use development. We have a large shopping center on the front end that includes lakeside restaurants, CVS, Starbucks, Marble Slab, Smoothie King, nail and hair salons, a gym, boutiques, office suites, and many others. On the backside of the development, we have our marina, a beautiful Lakeside Event Venue, and we recently started construction on a 56-unit luxury mid-rise condominium project called The Shoreline at Waterpoint. At Waterpoint Marina, you can keep your boat in our slips, take out our 80′ yacht for a charter of any kind including birthday parties and corporate events, and even try out the new sports craze of Flyboarding! We are a family owned and operated business who live, work, and play out on Lake Conroe and love everything about this 26-mile-long, 6-mile-wide playground. Waterpoint has really become one of the “Hotspots” on the lake because of everything we offer here. Read More>>

After graduating high school, I got into the Art Institute of Houston-North. Meanwhile going to school, I worked a full-time job and moved my way up as an Assistant Manager. My plans to go to New York and work for a Magazine did not happen! I had a wonderful little girl and I decided it would be best to stay in Houston and slowly build my business. Before graduating at AI, I started booking, and after graduating, I just kept trying to bring more and more people in. I used different websites, such as Thumbtack, Wedding Wire, Facebook etc… Some of them worked for me, some of them didn’t work for me. I just took it day by day. I knew it would take time and a lot of hard work, but I know I’d eventually be able to be where I am now. And I still think I should be doing better, even though I’m double booked most weekends and still booked on the week days. Read More>>
